Here are some of the things that have buttered my bread, brought in the bacon and other such necessary things. Most of these I have worked on as part of the bluestorm team, others I have done freelance.
Either way they are some projects I am really proud to have worked on, little bits of me. As mothers don't play favorites with their children, they are listed in no other order than newest first.
RSLSTEEPER is the UK’s premier provider of clinically effective, cost effective and innovative Prosthetic, Orthotic and Assistive Technology Care. They work independently and in partnership with the NHS and other care agencies to provide clinical services and products that enable people to fully realise their potential. Their software department, Meditech IT provides standard and bespoke software to administer clinical, operational and performance management in the healthcare sector.
The build of this website was a challenge as it contains vast amounts of content, aimed to both consumers as well as medical practitioners and orthotists who provide services to people with disabilities. It not only provides information for every product in the company’s range, it also contains information about services and advice for people using the products. The main challenge was to make the website user friendly and easy to use, without users getting lost or feeling frustrated.
The content is segmented and color coded by areas of interest, breadcrumbs and a search facility available throughout to help users find what they need. The color coding is used throughout and clear section markers are provided to make users aware of where they are. Quick links to section areas are provided as you drill down the content making access to relevant information easier. Google maps have been provided to cover all 60+ RSLSTEEPER locations, with direction finders as well as a comprehensive downloads section containing every document available on the site in one convenient location.
I have a dream that all my websites will one day exist in a Web where they will not be judged by how they look and behave in each browser, because all browsers will follow the same standards and display them the same.
This is my hope. With this faith in Web Standards and Accessibility for all people and devices we will be able to make a better Web. With this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of the browsers to a beautiful symphony of design, functionality and content. With this faith we will be able to work better, to play better, to struggle less, knowing that all devices will treat our work equally & with respect.
